Houston,Texas April 3, 2006 Audio Promotions was started by Connie and Robby Davidoski. The company was originally just a name on business cards that they handed out while supporting and promoting local events for the then Texas Director for USACi, Mark Barmore. Somewhere along the way, the idea eventually came up to offer small-venue events for local retailers that were not a part of the USACi circuit. The company started to grow and soon conflicts were developing between holding A-P events and competing. Besides the lack of set up fees or requirements for retailers to be members, the biggest differences between this company and all of the others was competition. Every certified judge was a competitor in some other organization, past or present. Every member of the staff encouraged their competitors to go to other events, and to enjoy the shows. While the best part of the company was the peaceful lack of name-calling and trouble starting, everyone involved missed making the "usual events" in their respective areas. The decision had come down in October of 2004, the company was closing down to get back to its roots...Competing. The company went out with a bang at the end of that month, holding their last event as an invitational. This show had the top five in each class, over the last year, entering the event for free. Since the company's interests now belong to someone else, this site will no longer be posting event dates. It has been left up, so the useful information can still be accessed. |
